Sir John Rose | Non-Executive Chairman

Sir John is Deputy Chairman of Rothschild Continuation Holdings, and sits on the board of BW Group and the Advisory boards of Holdingham International, Greenbriar Equity Group, and Hambro Perks Limited.  He is Chairman of Hambro Perks Environmental Technologies 1, Chair of BW Group’s Audi Committee, and Chairman of the Time & Tide Foundation which focuses on Conservation and Education in Zambia.

Sir John was Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Group plc from 1996 to 2011 having joined the company in 1984.  In 2008 he was made a Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur in France and awarded the Public Service Star in Singapore.

Stephen Brooke | Chief Executive Officer

Stephen is Ombu’s founder and has over twenty years of investment experience.

Previously, Stephen was founder and Managing Partner of Swarraton Partners, a UK venture capital firm, and Director of Business Development at IP Group plc, where he was part of the management team and sat on the Investment Committee and Board of Directors.  Earlier in his career, he worked at Bridgepoint Capital in London and Columbia University Science and Technology Ventures in New York.

Stephen has led investments in and provided management support to many high-growth, advanced technology businesses including Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd, Modern Water Plc and Revolymer Plc, and currently sits on the boards of Open EnergiP2iBluewater Bio and i2O Water.

Stephen is a graduate of Oxford University and Columbia University.

Duncan White | Investment Director

Duncan has extensive experience developing and financing advanced technologies in the industrial, energy and healthcare sectors. Previously, Duncan was at Rothschild Group, London where he worked as part of the mergers and acquisitions team.

Duncan graduated with a Masters in Chemistry (MChem) from the University of Edinburgh, holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University.

Duncan currently sits on the board of Iceotope and is a board observer of Driivz.

Dominic Perks | Non-Executive Director

Dominic founded Hambro Perks with Rupert Hambro CBE in 2013. As well as being a Partner of Hambro Perks, Dominic serves as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and is a voting member and Chairman of the Adviser’s Investment Committee. He has extensive entrepreneurial experience, having successfully founded, scaled and exited multiple businesses.

Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Dominic was a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co and also had a career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley where he primarily originated investment opportunities for private equity firms.

He serves as Hambro Perks’ investor director on a number of boards, including Tempo, Takumi and The Dots.

Dominic graduated from Oxford University with a first-class degree in English Literature.

Tom Bradley | Non-Executive Director

Tom is a Partner at Hambro Perks and a voting member of the Adviser’s Investment Committee. He has been investing in start-ups for twenty years and has worked with many successful businesses in software and internet markets.

Prior to joining Hambro Perks, Tom was CEO and Managing Partner of Oxford Capital where he also led its venture capital activities, and held Partner and leadership roles with DN Capital and Draper Esprit, where he was part of the founding team.

Tom has invested in and worked with a number of high-profile companies across Europe and the US including Moneybox, Curve, Push Doctor, HomeToGo, Partnerize, Mister Spex, Displaylink and Lovefilm.

Tom is a graduate of Oxford University with an MA in Modern History from Brasenose College.

Sir John Parker | Strategic Advisor

Sir John is recognised as a highly experienced business leader and chairman. He has chaired five FTSE 100 companies and brings a broad range of leadership experience across a variety of industries in many countries. Sir John is currently non-executive chairman of  Laing O’Rourke and Pennon Group plc. He was previously chairman of Anglo American plc, chairman of National Grid plc, senior non-executive director and chair of the Court of the Bank of England, joint chair of Mondi, chair of BVT and P&O plc, and a non-executive director of Carnival Corporation and Airbus. Earlier in his career, Sir John served as chairman and chief executive of both Harland & Wolff and Babcock International. He has also served as President of the Royal Academy of Engineering and chancellor of the University of Southampton, and was a Visiting Fellow of the University of Oxford.

Richard Haddon | Executive Chairman, Bluewater Bio

Richard is a hugely experienced business leader and has run a range of businesses in the utility and support services sectors.  He has held senior management positions in British Gas, National Grid and Transco Plc, and, since 2003, has taken on the role of CEO in support services companies such as Fulcrum Connections Ltd and London-listed Fountains plc. As Chairman of a successful consultancy business Richard has also provided C-suite counsel to many blue-chip and FTSE 100 firms, from Babcock International, DHL and BAE Systems to BAA and Arqiva.

Chris Saunders | Executive Chairman, P2i

Chris is a highly experienced CEO and entrepreneur. He was Vice President of Actaris Metering Systems (formerly Schlumberger Measurement & Systems division), which exited to Itron for €1.8bn. He was also founder and CEO of Navetas Energy Management, and led the major UK Trade Association BEAMA.

Operations

Madeleine Bonieux | Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary

Madeleine is in charge of the finance function, annual audit and management and statutory reporting. Madeleine also runs the operations and provides administrative and legal support to the team. She is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, she has a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Business Law from Curtin University in Australia.
